A strong earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale hit Manila, the Philippine capital on Thursday, at around 2:30 p.m. local time, according to the government seismology institute.
Xinhua correspondent in Manila felt the tremor.
There has been no immediate report of causalities and damages.
